May 23, 2016 Great travels

Great travels in spite of motorhome problems.  We definitely are making great headway on our trip to California and I’m enjoying the time with Virena.  We have made it to Ft. Stockton, Texas with is over 1600 miles and about 1000 to go.  We are both ready for a couple of days of R&R.

Interesting issues with RV that will need to be addressed sooner rather that later.

  • fresh water drain valve has a slow leak will need to replace the valve, temporarily just letting the valve leak will fix when we stop for a couple of nights
  • alternator not charging, will need to address this when in California
  • grey tank valve leaking will address this when we stop some place for an extra day or so.
  • jacks would not go down last night, disassembled unit and sprayed main switch on controller with contact cleaner and now is working, one item off of the list.
  • One of the day/night blinds need to be re-strung and will address this when we are stopped someplace

Just on a more personal note, Polly is doing fine and is enjoying seeing all the new sites.

We have had rain almost everyday, the good news is most of it has been at night.  tonight it looks like it is going to be no rain but lots of wind.

We fueled up with diesel tonight and the price was pretty good at 2.199 and that has been on the high side of what we paid.

Last night spent the night at By The River RV Park & Campground.  Our view out the front was the river.

Sounds like a great adventure trip Ray. Had similar problems years ago on motor home trip to Canada–just adds to the memories you will share in years to come? Be safe & enjoy the ride???

Sounds fun in spite of the problems. How long will you be here and where will you be?

    • Ray says:

We are pretty flexible about how long; however, will probable see you at Saddleback on Saturday evening. Not sure of where we will be staying yet.

Prayers for God to bring you on in with no more motorhome issues!!! And for the issues at hand to be fixed asap!! Either by mechanic or miracle!! The latter being preferable!!! And of course for your safe travels. So happy Polly is having a great time! Hope to meet her! Vaja Con Dios!! Love & blessings from the West Coast.

Man when you decided to move you move it. Sorry about the snares in your journey. Thanks for keeping us updated.

    • Ray says:

Thanks, the “snares” have not been an issue so far to our travels, or at least not since the tow bar issue was resolved.
Hope all is well for you

      Ray
